Welcome to the TISHK Seminar Series
This series is dedicated to exploring and discussing the latest research and developments related to the Kurdish question. Our objectives are threefold:
- Familiarize the Audience: Present the latest research on Kurdish issues to keep
the audience informed. - Critical Discussion Space: Foster an environment for critical dialogue on topics
related to Kurdistan. - Academic Empowerment: Strengthen the academic community of Kurdistan
through knowledge sharing and networking.
Seminar Schedule
– Frequency: Monthly
– Duration: Each seminar will last approximately 2 hours.
– Timing: Typically held on the last Saturday of each month (subject to minor changes).
Seminar Structure
- Introduction (10 minutes)
– Welcome address by the moderator.
– Brief introduction of the seminar’s theme and the speaker. - Presentation (45 minutes)
– Featured researcher presents their latest findings on a specific topic related to
Kurdish studies.
– Use of visual aids and handouts is encouraged to enhance the presentation. - Q&A Session (30 minutes)
– The audience engages with the speaker through questions and discussions.
– Moderated by a faculty member to ensure a structured and productive dialogue. - Panel Discussion (30 minutes)
– A panel of experts, including the speaker, discusses broader implications and related
issues.
– Interactive discussion with audience participation encouraged. - Conclusion and Networking (5 minutes)
– Summary of key points and closing remarks by the moderator.
– Informal networking opportunity for attendees and speakers.
Participation
– Eligibility: Open to researchers and scholars with expertise in Kurdish studies.
– Submission: Interested participants should submit a brief abstract of their research
and a CV to the organizing committee.
– Selection: Presenters will be selected based on the relevance and quality of their
research.
