Abstract

Ebrahim Farshy's book, written during the protests in Kurdistan from 2022 to 2023, provides a profound insight into the dramatic events that became known as the Jina Revolution or "Woman, Life, Freedom." The book centers on the tragic death of Jina (Mahsa) Amini on September 16, 2022, which ignited the Kurdish people's uprising and nationwide protests. Farshy vividly documents the brutal repression of the Iranian regime against the Kurdish population and the crackdown on the protests. What makes this work unique is its format: a series of letters addressed to Jina, in which the author describes the daily circumstances and the political situation in Kurdistan. These poignant letters offer a unique and personal glimpse into the suffering, resistance, and hope of a people fighting for their freedom.
