TISHK Research Paper

The TISHK Research Paper project is designed to establish a robust framework for the publication of high-quality research on Eastern Kurdistan (Kurdistan-Iran) and other ethnic and religious groups in Iran, including Baloch, Azerbaijani, Arab, and Yaresani, Bahá’í, Zarathustrians, and others. This project was initiated by the TISHK Center for Kurdistan Studies with the objective of promoting scholarly discourse, enhancing understanding of regional issues, and contributing to the scholarly community through peer-reviewed publications. All research papers undergo a rigorous peer-review process and are edited by leading scholars and the Advisory Board of the TISHK Center.

The research papers are published as part of the project under the following bibliographical references:

The publications are published in both printed and digital form by the TISHK Center’s own publishing house.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the TISHK Research Paper project are:

  • To create a dedicated series for the publication of research on East Kurdistan and other ethnic and religious groups in Iran.
  • To provide a platform for scholars to share their findings and insights with a wider audience.
  • To increase the visibility and impact of research on regional and interdisciplinary topics in the academic community.
  • To contribute to the existing knowledge base by filling gaps in the literature on East Kurdistan and other peoples in Iran.

Scope and Focus Areas

The project will cover a wide range of topics including, but not limited to:

  • Historical, political and social studies on Eastern Kurdistan and Iran.
  • Cultural and linguistic studies of Kurdish and other ethnic groups in Iran.
  • Human rights issues and socio-economic challenges of these communities.
  • Comparative studies on other ethnic groups in Iran such as Baluchis, Azerbaijanis and Arabs.

The expected outputs of the project include:

  • A series of high quality research papers that will broaden the understanding of Eastern Kurdistan and other ethnic and religious groups in Iran.
  • Increased academic discourse and collaboration in regional studies.
  • Increased visibility and impact of research on socio-political and cultural issues in Iran.

Furthermore, contributions to policy making and advocacy efforts for the rights and welfare of ethnic and religious minorities are expected. ethnic and religious minorities.

Criteria for accepting Research Papers

The TISHK Research Paper project is designed to establish a robust framework for the publication of high-quality research on Eastern Kurdistan (Kurdistan-Iran) and other ethnic and religious groups in Iran

Criteria for accepting research papers for the “TISHK Research Paper”:

1.Length and Formatting:

  • Text Count: The text part of the Research Papers must contain at least 50,000 characters including spaces and notes (or 30 A4 pages) and may not exceed 140,000 characters including spaces and notes (or 70 A4 pages),.
  • Page Count: 30 to 70 pages, including bibliography and appendices.
  • Format: Microsoft Word or PDF, font size 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing.

2. Citation and Bibliography:

  • Use Chicago Style for citations and bibliography.
  • All quotes and references must be correctly formatted.

3. Content Requirements:

  • Focus on historical, political, social, cultural, and linguistic studies of Eastern Kurdistan and other ethnic and religious groups in Iran.
  • Research on human rights issues and socioeconomic challenges.

4. Peer-Review Process:

  • All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process.

5. Originality:

  • Submissions must be original and unpublished.
