The Art of Discussion and Negotiation: Traditional Kurdish Practices and Contemporary Theories

Abstract

In the history of the Kurdish political struggle, dialogue and negotiation constitute an important part of efforts to resolve problems and pursue national rights. Success in this sphere requires not only strength and experience but also knowledge, preparation, and an understanding of the interests and modes of thinking of the parties involved. Within society, too, resolving disagreements and strengthening the tradition of dialogue are of fundamental importance for preserving social peace and preventing the escalation of crises. Within this framework, the book represents an effort to introduce the scientific foundations of dialogue and to apply them in Kurdish society.
