Welcome to the TISHK Articles in Advance

TISHK Articles in Advance provides incisive and insightful analysis of the Kurdistan and the Kurdish question in the broader context of the Middle East. Our platform aims to foster dialogue among writers and thinkers who grapple with the unique challenges facing the Kurdish nation and contemplate a positive future for this remarkable region.

Located at the center of the historically and geopolitically complex Middle East, Kurdistan is of immense importance. TISHK Articles in Advance is committed to promoting inclusive discussions about the challenges facing the Kurdish nation, recognizing that critical scholarly engagement, both as a methodological approach and as a theoretical framework, has the potential to contribute significantly to the realization of a better future for both the Kurdistan region and the Middle East as a whole.

Criteria for publication on the TISHK Articles in Advance

In order to maintain the quality and vision of our platform, we have established the following publication criteria:

  • conciseness and clarity: we recommend articles of no more than 5000 words in order to engage our readers through brevity and clarity.
  • multilingual approach: Articles published on Kurdistan Agora will be available in both English and German to reach a diverse, international audience.
  • unique points of view: We emphasize publishing content that deals with less discussed topics and offers new insights into the overlooked aspects of Kurdistan and the Middle East.
  •  non-ideological approach: While we welcome diverse perspectives, we do not endorse articles that align with specific ideologies. We value independent thinking and balanced views on political, social, and cultural events in Kurdistan.
  • Critical scholarship: Perspectives on Kurdistan are profoundly shaped by close study of historical processes and social change. We invite insightful discussions on various important topics and emphasize that the application of criticality, both as a methodological approach and as a theoretical framework, has the potential to contribute significantly to the realization of a better future for both the Kurdistan region and the broader Middle East.
  • article submission format: Please submit your articles in a Word file using Times New Roman font, size 12, and ensure that references follow Chicago citation style.

We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions and encourage you to contact our editorial team (editor@tishk.org) with any questions or to submit your articles.
